Judith Bunting was elected as MEP for the South East of England in May 2019. She sat as part of the Liberal Democrat Delegation to the European Union until 31st January 2020.

As CULT Rapporteur, Judith was responsible for setting education and priorities for the strategic innovation agenda for the European Institute for Innovation and Technology, 2021-2027.
In November 2019 she represented the UK on a research mission to Seoul, where she met members of the South Korean National Assembly to discuss the potential for cultural exchange across the Korean peninsula. She continued this work back in London, meeting the cultural attache at the North Korean Embassy to the UK in January 2020.
A keen supporter of vocational education, Judith hosted a visit of 39 apprentices from the UK to Brussels, to spread the word about opportunities for apprentices across the EU.
Before entering politics, Judith studied Natural Sciences at Cambridge University. She was a successful science journalist and TV documentary director at the BBC for more than 20 years.
Judith was Parliamentary Candidate for the Liberal Democrats in Newbury and West Berkshire in 2015 and 2017. She is currently President for the Fitz Society, Alumni association of the Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge.
